If you’re a mommy or food blogger, chances are you want to share some recipes you just tried or found somewhere else. While you can simply write them as any other post, there’s a better way to share food recipes in WordPress.
Introducing Easy Recipe plugin. Luckily, it’s a free WordPress plugin and is available from the WordPress plugin repo.
Easy Recipe plugin supports Recipe View microdata out of the box. If you care about SEO and your website traffic, having the microdata in search engine like Google helps to highlight your article in SERP, thus increases the clicktroughs rate to your entry. This plugin handles all the microdata and format of your recipe. Simply add photo and your recipe, it will display the recipe in a nice layout.
Furthermore, there are other cool features such as rating system where you can rate the food and print button to allows your reader to print the recipe in few clicks.
Once you’ve installed the plugin, you may change the default texts such as author label, headings and more. The default texts should be good but if want to change it to other language, that can easily be done from the settings page. While there are lots of options on the settings page, the default settings should work perfectly in all sites.
To add your recipe in any post, simply click on the Easy Recipe button from the WYSIWYG editor. Then, upload your image and fill in all necessary data about your recipe.
This plugin also supports conversion from other similar plugins such as RecipeSEP, Ziplist and Recipe Card. While it is free, there’s also a premium version with some extra features such as guest post, custom templates, live formatting and more. Give Easy Recipe a try and look no further.

Nice tutorial!
I actually tried a bunch of recipe plugins for my food blog, Easy Recipe being one of them, but wasn’t entirely satisfied with any. So I created my own plugin: WP Ultimate Recipe. It would be great if you could check it out and let me know what you think!
Hi Brecht,
Thanks for the heads up. We will definitely check it out.
