Recently, one of our readers asked whether it’s possible to limit number of posts per user. The reason behind it is because he only wanted some user roles to be able to publish number of posts on his site. Luckily, it’s possible and easier than you might think. Introducing WPSite Limit Posts plugin.
This plugin is available for free from WordPress plugin repository and once you’ve activated it, you’ll see a new settings to limit number of posts per user. Furthermore, you can limit the number of posts based on role or on per used. This type of plugin/feature could be useful for membership site as well. For example, you might want to create a custom role based on the type of subscriptions and set the limit of post for each type of roles.
Another feature of this plugin is whenever a user has reached his limit, his post will be moderated and will be assigned a new post status of “Limited”. This allows the post to be kept in safe place.
It’s good to know this kind of thing is possible to do with WordPress and can be added to any WordPress site in few clicks. If you’re looking to limit the number of posts for every user or role, WPsite Limit Posts plugin is definitely the easiest and best way to do it.
