He’s also kind enough to provide few examples to do some advance customization to the grid loop.

I’m not going to repeat what he had said. If you hate coding and want a simpler solutions, I’d suggest using Genesis Grid plugin. This plugin was developed by Billerickson and is really easy to use.

1. Install and activate the Genesis Grid plugin.

2. Once you’ve activated the plugin, in your dashboard, you will see the new Genesis Grid sub-menu under the Genesis menu.

3. From the settings page, you can set the featured image and the number of post for features and teasers sections of the grid. You can also choose where the grid will be applied - Blog Home, Category Archives, Tag Archives etc.

Features are the top section in the grid loop, usually in full width while teasers are the posts in the multiple column. You may have teasers of 2 columns, 3 columns and up to 6 columns max. If you do not want to have the features section, simply put 0 in the text field in the settings page.

You will also be able to assign different image sizes to features and teasers from the plugin’s settings page. If you want to use a custom image size, make sure you add a new featured image size first.
